Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Open House

The City of Surrey is hosting an open house in the Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest alongside the Sunnyside Acres heritage society a group of volunteers dedicated to preserving the forest! Join in on an afternoon of fun as they celebrate our urban oasis.

Events will take place in the Wally Ross Parking Lot and will include live music, guided nature walks, bucket truck rides, bird/bee house building, face painting and more.

Note there will be no parking in the low for the event but there’s plenty of street parking available.

This event is part of the Surrey environmental extravaganza a series of free nature programs and events at  Surrey parks!

LIVE MUSIC! The Shenanigans at Ocean Park Hall

The Shenanigans have rocked the Blarney Stone for years and now they’re gonna rock Ocean Park Hall Friday night! Thanks to the Legion of Sound for bringing one of Vancouver’s  best party bands to our community so we can get our party on without having to travel downtown.

Tickets to the Friday night show are only $20 and available online here or in person at White Rock Beach Beer, Ethical Addiction or the Sandpiper Liquor store. Buy your tickets in advance and get a free drink!

Drinks at the show are only $5 and include craft beer from our very own White Rock Beach Beer company!

Your cowboy boots are likely still within reach from the Cloverdale Rodeo last week so pull them back on for Saturday night’s Legion of Sound first ever country show featuring- Terry Savage & the Wonky Honkees and Megan Twist at 8pm at Ocean Park Hall!

Tickets are available at the door for only $20 plus what’s a concert without beer?! All drinks are only $5 including White Rock Beach Beer!

 

43rd annual Alexandra Festival

A long standing community tradition returns as the 43rd annual Alexandra Festival comes to Crescent Beach Saturday May 27th from 11 – 5.

The Alex Festival includes live entertainment, visits from the Urban Safari Rescue Society, Science World, and Norden the magician. There will also be food trucks, a marketplace, bouncy castles and lots of great activities for kids of all ages.

Admission is by donation. The weather also looks perfect for Saturday so use Alex Fest as an excuse to spend the day in Crescent Beach!
