Sounds of Summer at the Glades Garden

July 5th enjoy classic strings by the Armadillo Strings quarter in the Glades Garden in South SurreyEnjoy an evening of classical music set against the beautiful Glades Garden nestled away in South Surrey. This newly updated park will welcome the City of Surrey’s Sounds of Summer live music series on July 5th with a Classical Strings performance by the Armadillo String Quartet. Bring your own chair, blankets and picnic baskets.

The Glades Garden originally began in 1956 by Lydia & Murray Stephen. They purchased the 5 acre plot of land to recreate Scotland’s famous rhododenron gardens. The pair worked hard to renovate the land and to plant exotic trees, azaleas and other unique shrubs alongside the rhododendrons. Following Murray’s death in 1970 the garden was left until 1994 when Jim and Elfriede DeWolf purchased the land and restored the gardens. in 2002 the DeWolf’s gifted the Glades to the City of Surrey who have worked hard to maintain, expand and improve the Glades gardens.
