Halloween is just around the corner and in South Surrey / White Rock this means the arrival of a host of fun Halloween activities including The Art Knapps Halloween maze, the Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch, and spooktacular Halloween events!

Here’s a list of Halloween/Fall themed events for South Surrey and White Rock for October 2018.

A great fall activity is visiting the Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch in South Surrey. Wagon rides, corn maze, pumpkin patch and petting zoo!

One of our community’s gems is the Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch! Run by a local family since 1949 the Hazelmere Pumpkin patch opens for exploration every October.

For only $7.50 (cash only) families get to visit the farm and enjoy:

  • Wagon Rides
  • Corn Maze
  • Pumpkin Patch
  • Petting Zoo
  • Play areas including the fire truck, a boat and the Tonka Truck zone

Families can purchase their farm fresh pumpkins starting at $2 on the way out!

Hours of operation are:

  • Weekends : 10am – 5pm
  • Weekdays Oct 9th – 30th 3:30pm – 5:30pm

ART KNAPP HALLOWEEN MAZE & PUMPKIN PATCH Halloween maze at Art Knapps Surrey

Art Knapp is a great place to explore any time of the year but around Halloween they get particularly festive and fun and are the PERFECT spot to take little kids.

The ever-popular Art Knapp train will be taking families on a tour through the garden center where you’ll find spooky surprises along the way.

They also have a non-muddy pumpkin patch a cleaner alternative which is great for toddlers! For the older kids take part in a game of mini-golf throughout the center and while you’re there check out their great selection of home decor and clothes!


In their 75th anniversary the White Rock Player’s Club presents Dracula The Bloody Truth!

Travelling across Europe, from the dark and sinister Transylvanian mountains to the charming seaside town of Whitby, Professor Van Helsing and his three amateur actors stage a life-changing, theatrical production of Dracula – hoping to establish, once and for all, the bloody truth.

The show runs Oct 9th – 26th and tickets range from $12 – $24! Inital reviews are in and they are favourable saying the show is quite funny, and very entertaining!

On October 19 & 20 the Fraser Valley Heritage Railway train will be operating a Super Heroes – Super Villain Halloween event!

Kids are encouraged to dress in costume to take part in the Halloween event which takes place in the station followed by a short train ride and ending with a Halloween event in the Discovery Station.

The event runs every hour from 10am – 3pm (last event starts at 3pm) on Saturday October 19th & Sunday October 20th.

Guarantee your space by purchasing tickets in advance. Otherwise tickets are available for purchase at the station closing 15 minutes before the event gets started.

You can find the Heritage Railway in Cloverdale at Hwy 10 & the bottom of 176A St.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors & Students, $10 for youth 3-10 & kids under 3 are free!

HISTORIC STEWART FARM-OCT 25 & 26South surrey's historic attraction the stewart farmhouse transforms into the haunted farm every halloween

Every Halloween the already kind of spooky Stewart Farmhouse gets even spookier with their Haunted Farm event taking place October 26th from 12 pm – 3pm.

This safe, drop-in event (with no scare factor) brings back old-time All Hallow’s Eve traditions, including crafts and spooky treats. Bring the kids in their costumes and enjoy:

  • Warm up by the woodstove in the farmhouse kitchen as you sip hot chocolate and have your fortune told by a Fate Cake
  • Get candy after you do spooky scavenger hunts in the farmhouse and pole barn to spy bats, rats and other Halloween creatures
  • Play games like Shoe Toss Fortune and Pumpkin Bowling & stick your hand in our creepy Discovery Jars if you dare!
  • Make a ghost craft or spider thaumatrope to take home
  • Take a seasonal selfie with our pumpkin and scarecrow cut outs in the Pole Barn
  • Watch classic scary silent movies from the late 1800s/early 1900s in the Hall

Plus, this year they are hosting a Classic Scary movie marathon on October 25th from 6:30-8:30pm. Bring a blanket and enjoy hot chocolate and popcorn. While the event is free registration is recommend to save your spot. Call  604-501-5100 and use barcode #4674085.


On October 26th from 1-4pm visit the Shops at Morgan Crossing for their free, family friendly, Halloween FUN event!

Pick up a Trick or Treat map in the breezeway between Menchie’s & Sushi Castle and then visit Trick or Treat throughout the shops at participating retailers. Once the trick or treating is complete you will have  chance to WIN $250 gift card to The Shops at Morgan Crossing.

Kids can also enjoy Halloween games and crafts in the breezeway between Menchie’s and Sushi Castle.


We are proud to be partners in the Spooky Saltaire event presented by the White Rock BIA October 31 from 2:30-4pm. The businesses located at the corner of Johnston & Thrift  in uptown White Rock will be providing family-friendly activities for kids.

Kids are encouraged to dress up in costume to enjoy free activities including:

👻 Trick-or-treat bag decorating at The Handpicked Home
👻 Trick or Treating at select locations
👻 PLUS “Beauty” Princess from Believe Party Entertainment will be on site keeping us entertained!

On October 31st from 5pm – 6pm kids 12+, dressed in costume and accompanied by an adulst can safely (and warmly) trick or treat at the businesses in Semiahmoo Mall.

A $2 donation to the Surrey Firefighters Charitable Society is recommended.

  1. For adults I recommend White Rock Players perform Dracula. Just saw it and enjoyed it. It’s a comedy and is quite funny. Tickets on Wed and Thurs are only $12.
